About Bob and Bev Bruce

Bev and Bob have lived on Saturna for over 20 years and have extensive local knowledge of Saturna Island and the surrounding waters. Over the past 30 years they have built, lived aboard and cruised on two of their three sailboats. Currently, they are restoring the 46 foot cutter "Manathine", which will be used as a future mothership for kayak touring. Combined they have taken courses in deep sea and coastal navigation and pilotage, search and rescue, hypothermia and CPR. Bob was a member of the Coast Guard Marine Auxiliary and took part in search and rescue work. He also holds a VHF operator's license, a ham radio license and is trained in occupational and wilderness first aid. They have been kayaking the waters of Saturna for several years. All Saturna Seakayaking guides are certified by the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance and are trained in wilderness first aid.
